SILENCE
For this project you will take a photo that transmits a sense of quietness and isolation. It could be described as a calm natural landscape, with one or very few people contrasting with its immensity, and marking a distance from fast-paced, loud everyday life. Or it could be something or someone in a crowd or with others but still alone/solitary/quiet. This is not about a depressed image. This is about finding the subtlety of silence. You will look for a place, a person, or a thing that conveys this message. Please remember not to be too obvious.
The rule you select is the rule you will use for this assignment. You will capture an image that follows one selected guideline.
Rules (aka Compositional Guidelines):
Center of Interest
Leading Line
Framing
Rule of Thirds
When enough effort is invested, this assignment can yield some amazing work. You can start by avoiding literal, predictable solutions.
Think about TIME OF DAY as an important contributor to enhancing your subject's appeal. Often early morning or late afternoon, close to sunset or just after, provide the most dramatic lighting conditions. Fog can be very Mysterious - take advantage of less than perfect weather conditions.
